Be going to 1) Used to decide to do sth.(intention): e.g. I’m going to watch the next programme. 2) For refusal: I’m sorry, but I’m not going to walk half a mile in the rain. 3) It’s similar to the present continuous tense: I’m going to visit my friend at the weekend. = I’m visiting my friend…. 4) For prediction (sth. Is going to happen): The ladder is moving, so David is going to fall.
Will Vs. be going to Will Be going to Neutral meaning: I’ll be twenty next Friday. An intention, sth. (We have already decided to do): We’re going to have a meal. Instant decision or arrangement to do so: There’s a postbox over there. I’ll post these letters. We have already decided: I’m going out, I’m going to post these letters. Prediction about the future: One day people will travel to Marce. Prediction (what’s going to happen in the future): There isn’t a cloud in the sky. It’s going to be a lovely day.
Present Continuos 1) For what someone has arranged to do in the future: - I’m going to an ice hockey match.(he has arranged to go to the match, he has a ticket.) 2) Used to talk about things happing now: - We’re having a party tomorrow. - We’re = = = = at the moment. 3) When phrases of time mentioned, it is clear that the sentence tense refers to (future): The tigers are plying the kings. 4) This tense is similar to (be going to) in the meaning: - We’re having a party at the moment. (we have made/the arrangement) - We’re going to have a party next week.
Present simple for a timetable It is used for timetable: - The train leaves at 7 o’clock in he morning. Be to/ be about (i) Be to : in news reports: - The football match is to conduct next week. (ii) Be about to: for the very near future: - The plane is at the end of the running. It is about to take off. Will be doing 1) For an action over a period of a time (=in the middle of an action) - When the men leave the building, the police will be waiting for them. 2) For an action which will happen in the course of events (schadual of future events): - The party will be starting at ten o’clock. (part of evening’s events) 3) As a part of routine: - Suha and layla will be cleaning the house tomorrow. They always do it on Sunday.
