2-Singular and plural
1-To form the plural number of a noun,add s to the singular.
Ex :cat ;cats, door :doors ,girl: girls ,mouth: moths ,pen: pens ,dog :dogs.

2-When the words end with s,x,ch,sh,z ,we add es in the end of this word.
Ex :box -boxes ,watch- watches ,glass- glasses ,fez-fezes.

3 – If nouns end in " y and the "y" is preceded by a vowel , the plural is formed by adding "s" to the singular.
Ex :Day- days , boy- boys , key- keys , Sunday –Sundays.
But if "y" is preceded by consonant the plural is formed by changing the "y" in to "ies" .
Ex:Baby –babies , fly- flies ,lady ladies .

4-If nouns ends in "f" ,"fe" , the plural is formed by changing "f" ,"fe"into "ves".
Ex :Knife- knives ,wife –wives ,wolf –wolves .

Some words ends with "fe" and "f",but we don’t change the "f and fe" to" ves" we only add "s" .
Ex:
Proof – proofs safe- safes
Grief- griefs roof-roofs
Gulf- gulfs believes

The following nouns have irregular plurals:

Man –men tooth –teeth
Woman –women foot-feet
Goose-geese child children
Mouse –mice ox -oxen
